Forty years. One craft.

In 2002, I decided to focus entirely on training. In the years since, I have personally guided over 3,250 students and sold more than 30,000 copies of my AutoCAD textbook. In 2024, I received the Autodesk Learning Partner Excellence Award as European Autodesk Trainer of the Year 2024/2025. I mention it because it happened, not because I need it on the wall. I am a Platinum Autodesk Certified Instructor, and that is not changing.

Earlier this year, I sold CADdesign CAD Training to Jean-Pierre van Gastel. He runs the company and delivers the training. I stay involved behind the scenes and remain active as an instructor. How I work

I keep it simple. Not because the subject is easy, but because the right simple question cuts faster than any complicated answer. I keep asking why. I do not need to know your industry to see what is going on in your workflow. I work in black and white, not to be difficult, but to find out where on the grey scale you sit.

I work with CAD managers and trainers at every stage of their career. Whether you are still finding your way, or you have been in the game for years and notice you are running on autopilot. A second pair of eyes from someone with no stake in your organisation can make a real difference. The same goes for teams stuck on 2D or 3D CAD implementation.

If your team is struggling with adoption and nobody can quite put their finger on why, that is exactly where I come in. I sit down, listen to both sides, and simply tell you what I see. No hierarchy, no agenda. I work just as easily with the person on the shop floor as with the manager above them, and both get the same honest picture.

Madeira

Earlier this year, I traded a houseboat on the edge of Amsterdam for a small stone house on Madeira. Four terraces of land where we grow our own fruit and vegetables. Long walks through the mountains, simple food, clean air. They call it the Hawaii of Europe, and I understand why.

But honestly? Nothing gives me more energy than a successful training session, watching someone grow in skill and confidence right in front of me. That feeling comes with me wherever I go. From Madeira, I am available for online coaching, personal training, and consultancy. And if you want me on-site, I will be there.

Why cadtrainer.nl? Because that is what I am, and what I have always been. A CAD trainer. The .nl makes me recognisable as that Dutchman who has been in the game since the drafting table days. cadtrainer.com would be too generic. This is personal.
